Flagstaff

My parents had 2 weeks at the condo in Flagstaff this year, so the kids and I got to go for a little over a week and hang out. Also super fun was that Jason and his family could come for several days!!!

Of course, my little CJ man crashed and burned on the asphalt, within the first hour of being there. Grandpa started calling him Crash Jennings "CJ" since this was the first of many falls. Poor guy. Always going faster than his legs'll take him.

This isn't a very good picture to tell from, but we got to watch several movies in the "enormous bean bag" theater at the activity center, right by our condo. I thought Brooklyn looked so cute, all tiny with her pigtails, sitting on top of the huge love sac, watching Brother Bear.

We were able to squeeze in at least 3 fishing trips while there, and CJ was so excited to catch this little guy!

Payt caught one too!

Comparing the clouds:
Casey sent this picture of the huge storm at our house in Mesa.
Here were the clouds at the lake we were fishing at. So pretty. I loved all the huge lightning/thunder/rain storms while up in Flag.

Susy and her kids were great fishermen to have along.

I opened my camping chair to sit in and found a kite stuff in there!!! I had packed it for Solana Beach the previous month, and never could find it while we were in California. Well duh, who puts it in a beach chair??? ha ha. But we made use of it while fishing.

And fun side note, we had seriously just finished singing "5 Little Ducks" when this mother duck and her 5 babies came swimming right in front of us. Kid you not! We were shocked and cracked up, and sang it again to them!
(I promise there were 5 babies, not sure where the other one is in this picture)

At least once a day, it was a must to go to the activity center and go goofy-golfing, as we call it.

Plus play a little pool and ping pong with cousins while you're there.

Then the occasional hot tubbing on our back porch,
followed by warming up by the fire :)

A favorite place, right by our condo, is this cute little lake where we walk/ride around and check out the ducks, and sometimes we can spot eagles in the nearby trees.

Something we had never done was ride up the ski lift at Snowbowl. We got a great deal too. The kids 8 and under were free, which is all of Jason's and my kids. Tori came too and someone gave her a free groupon. Then Jason used his military ID, so it was a great deal.
The ride was long, but relaxing and pretty.
CJ was super excited to use the "Highest Toilet in Arizona" ha ha, because of its elevation.

Oh man, the view up there was spectacular.

So cool too, they found a whole bunch of big ladybugs at the top. I LOVE ladybugs! Crazy that there was a ton of them.

I was fascinated by the pinecones that grow upside down. A certain kind I guess. Cool.

We got down just in the nick of time. Like for reals. It got so stormy and FREEZING up there, and the rain started as soon as we got down.

Casey and I took the boys to Lowell Observatory at night to check out the stars. Really cool.

Our neighbors were letting off a bunch of these rocket balloons and were kind enough to share with us. Such a hit. The kids loved them.
Grandma put on an exercise class :)
and planned a candy car activity.

We Love Flagstaff!!!
