May: Wedding, Last Day of School, etc

Peter and Angela's Wedding:

This was such a great day, with a beautiful sealing, and such a fun, exquisite reception :)

Photo: So happy for this cute couple! Thanks amber for sending me a picture! I was dying to see one, ang you look STUNNING! Congrats mrs. Jennings!! Love you!
Plus I loved seeing my kids all dressed up cute.
Except for it took way longer to start taking pics than anticipated, and somehow Brooklyn got her brand new dress all black :( I was so upset!! I tried my best to clean it up, but I was just annoyed because had we started pics on time, her dress would've been spotless!

So hard getting kids to all look at the camera at the same time. Usually only one kid looks good at a time in a pic.

Plus I had to document that Brooklyn will go to Uncle Dick, and let him hold her. She won't often let other people hold her, and actually most kids are afraid of him, ha ha. So sweet :)

I kept waiting for one of them to fall in, but surprisingly they stayed dry.

Payt's Last Day of School:

Payt got his pic on the last day, so CJ wanted one too.

One of the kids' mom's, Lindsey Hardison, planned a fun class party with all minute-to-win-it games.
Cereal Box Puzzles:
Ping Pong Lint Roller Catch:
Cotton Balls stuck on your nose with petroleum jelly:

Plus so adorable, they had a red carpet and fun music the kids walked down, while the paparazzi (me :) took pictures of them while they got some kind of candy certificate.
Payton got a big box of "Nerds" "for your intelligence and hard work in all areas."
It was really cute and the kids loved it.

Other Random May Pictures:

I can't remember why, but we had some big water balloons when our friends Scott and Lia Gardner were over, and Scott threw the last one to Casey who had a baseball bat, and it made this cool picture!

Cousins came over after school one day, and Payton had been saving a bag of recycled stuff to make a robot with. I knew this was the perfect job for his cousin Warren to help him with. Look how cool it turned out :)

Brooklyn went to a handful of swim lessons before we left on all our summer vacations. I had 'bought' them from a Relief Society Service Auction, so we got them for free.
She absolutely hated them. I felt really bad because she screamed THE WHOLE TIME. At the end she had swallowed so much water and was screaming uncontrollably, that she vomited all over the teacher. Oops sorry... I felt so bad. She didn't really learn how to swim at all, but by the end she stopped crying for the lessons, ha ha.

I thought it would help that her friend Paige was in the class, but she cried a lot too at first, so wasn't much help.
Oh well, maybe next year we'll do better.
I've tried working with her every time we swim (which is everyday that we're home), and she couldn't ever figure out how to hold her breath, or even shut her mouth when I dunked her under, until just this week. Yay!! Progress!! She'll blow bubbles and barely put her own face in. And she does love to kick her legs. So we'll get there eventually...

May: Sedona, Mother's Day, Preschool

So my BFF Jess convinced me to take a girl's trip, and I can't believe we actually made it happen.
We went Thurs-Sat to Sedona and had a great time.

We posed as cowgirls, ha ha,

went hiking,

ate out,

got pedicures,

strolled around Tlaquepaque,

went to a movie, did meditation yoga (a little on the loopy side for me, ha ha), swam, napped, tried to sleep in (darn kids have ruined me and I woke up at 6 each day! :(
And had a wonderful time visiting and relaxing. Man, why have I never done this till now???
Thanks Jess!! Love you!!

Mother's Day:
I was so sad that both my boys' schools were having Mother's Day programs on the same day and at practically the same time. I went early to Payton's and was bummed that they put off starting their program to wait for all the mom's to get there. So it meant that even though I was on time, I still had to leave to rush to CJ's one. Luckily, Payton's Grandma Lindy was able to come and eat lunch with Payt and watch the program. She said it was darling, and he brought home lovely cards, poems, etc for me. But I did cry. I hated missing it :(

CJ had his singing program and it was adorable.

He brought me these cute flowers
and sang cute songs :)

On Sunday CJ was sick (doesn't he look lively in this pic??)
and Brooklyn was slightly under the weather and needed a nap, so last minute we decided that Casey would stay home with those 2, and Payt and I would go to church.

Last Day of Preschool:

How fun that on CJ's last day they got to have a water day with all kinds of activities like bubbles, chalk, cup races, baby pools, squirt guns, and this big blow up slide. So fun!

Brook got to come and wanted to swing in this the whole 2 hours.

This day was actually pretty crazy. We had water day, swim lessons, Pete's temple sealing, pictures that night, graduation, and the reception. I was exhausted by the end of that day...

He looked cute in his cap

When his teacher, Mrs. Billings called his name, she said, "CJ's our only student who's reading, and is still not supposed to go to kindergarten for another year."

Way to go Buddy on working so hard to learn how to read and being an excellent student. Love you CJ!!!
