Every time you ask Brooklyn where Coco Bunny is, she'll say she ran away.
As of right now, she really did run away :(
We loved the time we got to spend with her.
I love Brooklyn's faces :)
Getting everything all set up for General Conference.
Look what the wind did to our fence one day!!! We knew we needed a new one, but this definitely expedited the process.
Nice, huh? :)
CJ finally found a spot where Brooklyn couldn't interrupt his ipad play time.
CJ's field trip to the Fire Station was super fun, and he loved getting to squirt the hose.
Oh man. I told several people about my 'sod' story, but it sounds like 'sob story' which it kinda is, so here's my 'sod sob story' :)
I saw some sod posted for free, and my first thought was, "get there first!" (I'm all about free things :)
So since it was in between General Conference sessions, I got out of my skirt, (but should've put on grungy clothes), threw the kids in the car, and headed out. We did get there first, but man alive I wasn't thinking past getting there first. It was hot, and I should've grabbed a pony tail holder. Every time I bent over to pick up a roll, my hair would fly into my mouth, sticking to the gum that I was chewing, but my hands were so muddy that I couldn't get the hair out of my mouth :/ At one point I finally tried spitting out the gum, which of course just dangled in my hair, so I grabbed it with my muddy hands and just ripped it out and threw it away.
I had no idea how HEAVY sod was, especially since it was wet and muddy. And since it was muddy, it was super slippery, and I often dropped it, which of course fell in gravel, and when I picked it up again, my arms would get sliced from the rocks. I really didn't think I'd be able to get it all in the bed of my truck, (which I should've emptied of stuff before I went!).
I really thought my arms wouldn't be able to lift any more. So heavy.
And of course it was past nap time, so Brooklyn was crying.
Oh man. We were quite the site.
When we finally got home, I used the hose to wash off enough to unbuckle Brook, put her in bed, change into work clothes, and put my hair in a pony tail! It took another while to lay it all down, which ended up not being that much, but at least slightly improved what we had.
Although when Casey saw it he said, "that's it?" ha ha.
But let me tell you, that is the softest, most used patch of grass in our yard. The kids love it :)
Lindy organized such a fun girl's night where we were supposed to go roller-blading at the Wedge. However, the uncoordinated person that I am, opted for a bike, so that I'd be able to stay upright :)
I felt so lame, but boy did it come in handy. Bekah had some old blades that were super painful and didn't really roll very well. She was such a trooper and went so far in them. But finally at one point, she asked if she could hold onto me and I could pull her, so I did. Then later Emily offered to switch Bekah, and I also pulled her some. Then Lindy too tried the blades and ended up holding onto me.
So turned out, me on my lame bike saved the day!! ha ha ha :)
I tried to be a fun mom and make an "elephant fort." (A fort big enough to hold an elephant.) It enclosed the whole family room, and we watched a movie in it. But no one else seemed to be super excited about it, so it didn't last very long...
T-ball practice
"Monster Melting"--color a picture of a monster and melt them away by squirting them with water bottles.
I was trying to get Brooklyn to say "ladybug" because it comes out "leggybug" :) She finally says it at the end, right before she gives the camera a close-up, ha ha.
I love your fort....you are a totally cool mom for doing that for your kiddos. brooklyn is sooo cute and I can't believe she's 2! Wow, time goes by too fast. looks like you guys are enjoying your summer so far and I just love your "sob/d story"
