CJ's school had a Green Eggs and Ham Day.
They had a blast eating green eggs and ham,
(served by cute Aunt Bekah)
in a boat,
in a box with a fox
and with a goat, both real and fake :)
Plus, Brooklyn got some rides from cousin Abigail.
Lehi Days:
And at the beginning of the month, we also got to go to LEHI DAYS!! We love Lehi Days!! Well, I might love it the most out of my family, but it was pretty cute that for a few months afterwards, Brooklyn kept "telling me a secret" in my ear, and every single time would say, "I want to go to Lehi Days" ha ha. So she must've had fun too :) Oh, and it was Casey's first time EVER coming! We loved having him there and getting to participate in events with the boys.
We went the night before to register for events, and even though the kids said they didn't want to stay for the "Family Dance" they did end up getting their groove on for a bit. Grandma even danced with them!
The kids and I got there early the next morning, because CJ's event was the first one. Well, turns out I thought it was the 1st and it was actually like the 3rd. We could've slept a little longer, but oh well.
CJ wanted to do Mutton Busting, and I was surprised that he actually followed through with it. He didn't last longer than a second, once they opened the gate, but he tried it! :)
CJ went to a birthday party the day before, and he got a superhero mask painted on his face. It didn't really come off, so he had these red marks that looked kinda funny. :)
The kids loved the petting zoo. Especially Brooklyn. Oh man. She is in love with any and all animals. It's really a shame that they don't reciprocate her feelings :)
In anticipation of Lehi Days, we talked about CJ riding a sheep, and the boys getting to chase a chicken. At one point, Brooklyn was dead serious and said, "I'm gonna catch a cow." ha ha ha. So funny. So I had to get a picture of her "catching a cow" in the petting zoo.
If you ask Payton what his favorite thing about Lehi Days is, he'll usually say the cotton candy. Silly boy.
I love the Lehi Lariats. It's so cool to see their formations and being in sync with each other.
Payton/Casey and CJ/Grandpa did the goat dressing race. They both tried their best! I think I was taking a video of each one, so I don't have any pictures, but it was fun to cheer them on.
It was pretty funny though too because they had the missionaries do goat dressing. White shirt, tie and all.
Lehi Days was the same day as the Gilbert Temple cultural celebration, and they were worried all day about the rain. I was surprised that it only sprinkled a little bit in the morning at the rodeo, and then was fine most the day.
And then, oh my goodness, the hugest downpour came all of a sudden and it was a super torrential rain. We were under a canopy, but were still getting wet because the wind was whipping it sideways. It was crazy, but so fun.
People ran for cover.
It cracked me up when I looked over and saw one of the Neil boys sitting under this wheel barrow, ha ha :)
My mom got honored for all her hard work and got a belt buckle with her name on it.
(And later my dad surprised ME with a buckle too!! I totally didn't earn one, but was so honored that he thought to give me one :)
Such a muddy mess at the end, but so much fun!!
Lehi days is so fun. We were sad we missed it this year, but I feel like I lived it a bit now :).
ReplyDeleteAlso- the video of CJ cracked me up. What a brave boy to even try! And I love the Green Eggs and Ham day at the school- what a cute idea!
